Challenge Black Oscillating Pedestal Fan with Remote Control

We needed a new Fan as ours started to make chugging noises, we previously bought a Challenge fan ,mainly because it was black and fitted in with our kitchen décor , so decided to try to buy one the same , Unfortunately the previous model appeared to have been discontinued but a newer model has emerged which looks just as sleek as the old one...

The Challenge Black Oscillating Pedestal Fan with Remote Control is  £54.99 at Argos and can be found at the below link

It was delivered well within the timeframe given ( Thanks Argos for Cheap Next Day Delivery )
We unpacked the box to find the Fan putting it together was initially a breeze until it came to the point where the Fan Guard Circlip needed to be put on to hold the back and front guard together , On our old fan the Guard circlip was made of a thick plastic , giving a satisfying clunk to let you know all was well , This new fans guard circlip is made from a really flimsy piece of plastic with a tricky little Philips head screw right at the very bottom that you are supposed to tighten ,

We Tried and failed to get the plastic guard circlip in place , at one point it actually pinged off after it had been tightened up ...Never one to admit failure my husband came up with the idea of removing the guard circlip from our old fan and using it with the new fan ....Success ! It even looks good

The new remote is sleeker than the previous models too ,

This Fan Has the ability to have it running for up to 7 .5 hours in any of its modes . These include Normal Natural & Sleep Wind , it has 3 speeds useful for those hotter days when you want more of a flow in whichever room you are using the fan . After you have plugged the fan in , you can operate all of the functions from the remote control , including the Off On switch .

I recommend Challenge as a Brand ,its Items have always been of a good quality , unfortunately the circlip problem with this particular model needs redesigning as it could prove dangerous . As we Overcame this problem I am giving this fan 4/5

Yes £55.00 is a rather large amount to spend on a Fan but the positives Far outweigh the negatives , They literally last for years !
