There are so many sites dedicated to competitions which for Compers is a good thing , however , some of them are really impersonal , other than them using your email address to send stock emails there is a lack of real interaction , I , Like many others utilise these sites , the likes of Ninjawin Prizefinder Loquax and MSE all have their lists and if you really want interaction you can email them to tell them about your wins and maybe make it to their winners gallery ...
The Main Comping site I use is The Competition DataBase , here it's a completely different feeling , Mark & Nicola work really hard to make the site a friendly place , they have now utilised a chat facility so you can chat to other compers and Mark & Nicola in real time ,There are 7 categories
Add Comp the site has a fantastic Tracking facility but unlike other sites , it keeps track of the competitions you have entered and when Winners are announced you get notifications directly to your email telling you . From 1st December they have a dedicated Advent competition page Advents which no doubt I will be using .
If you want to make use of this fantastic site and Maybe make a comping friend or two Why not go there now and sign up ...I Promise it will soon become your favourite comping website
While I am on the subject of comping favourites I have to mention Two Pages dedicated to competitions on Facebook , Both administered by a Lovely comping friend Tony Vincent Martin .These are https://www.facebook.com/groups/prizelandpicks/ this page is for web based prizes with a value of over £100 cash , it's easy to join just ask any member to add you , alternatively message me on facebook https://www.facebook.com/traciharman and I will ask for you to be included . The Next offering from the Lovely TVM is Advent Picks https://www.facebook.com/groups/adventpicks/ Tony has to be congratulated for his dedication to detail as well as holding down a job he's always adding new comps updating documents and files ..If you enjoy these then also add The Winners Lounge https://www.facebook.com/groups/thewinnerslounge/ All competition winner names are added to this group in real time , both by Tony the other Admin and members of the group ..Remember with Facebook the more winning announcement groups you join the more likely you are to see your name tagged in posts . Joining these groups has made my last year fly by , and I have been tagged in wins that I would not have known about ..

Advantages: No running costs , a great visual decoration for night
Disadvantages: none
As anyone who reads my reviews will be aware , I love my garden and buying new products for it that will not only add to its beauty , but also be environmentally friendly are my top considerations .I have in the past bought Solar lighting from money saving high street shops such as poundland they did the job for a while and were comfortable on my pocket .
My husband who is terminally ill , loves to sit in the garden during the day and often stares out of the window into our secret garden of a night , his eyesight is quite poor and he was complaining that he could no longer see the solar lighting .
Being in the care industry I am well aware of the benefits of light therapy for people who have vision problems and went on an internet search .
I finally found what I was looking for on amazon , not only solar lights but a coloured string of lights with multi effects . I decided to purchase 4 boxes ...sounds a lot but for my purpose I needed it to be really colourful . Each box of lights cost £ 12.99 plus £3.50 shipping and handling , luckily the store that was selling them via amazon had a special deal on where you get free delivery if you spend over £50.
The Lights
Early next morning DPD delivered the lights to my door and I set about exploring their set up.
Each box contained a 7.5 meter string of lights , a ground stake , a wall mount ( unfortunately without the screws ) and the solar panel .Each solar panel holds a AA rechargable battery and a full charge lasts up to 12 hours , they are Fully Automatic, charging during the day, switch on at dusk and off at dawn .there is a switch on the base of the solar panel with three positions off / constant / Multi functions
All of these items literally clicked together after drilling holes into the fence and attaching the wall mounts I was then able to get artistic , spreading the lights in arcs and arches across the fences , once that was done it was the simple matter of placing the solar panel which is at the end of the string onto the wall mount .
When using these lights you have two options , you can either have the lights static or use the multi effect which is much the same as a string of Christmas tree lights , Choosing the multi effect mode actually uses less of the energy than having them on static .
It wasn't particularly sunny the day that I set them up so i wasn't expecting much from the lights ...I was so surprised ! at dusk they switched on and the colours were flittering all over the fence , green ,yellow, red, blue and orange , it was like a Moths Disco .
My husband sat in the kitchen for the remainder of the night completely mesmerized by the fact that he could now see the lights with their multi effect working. I have also bought five more sets of lights and had them strung up in my fathers garden as he loves them too.
These lights have come on every night for the last four weeks despite the dismal British summer .We had three consecutive days of dark skies and downpours and still the lights were burning brightly.I am extremely impressed !!
I would recommend these lights to anyone that wants to brighten up their garden , or just give it that little bit of pazzazz , you could use these lights for all manner of occasions , BBQs garden parties etc . Worth every penny of their £12.99 with no running costs .These are a must have for anytime of the year .
I have now uploaded a video , it's a bit wobbly because I took it on my phone , but you can see what I mean about a Solar Disco :)
Summary: Solar lighting with a twinkle for your garden , cheap to buy ,no cost to run .A must have .
Review for Zanussi
Avante ZC168300XA Electric Cooker
Zanussi's Tag Line '
The Appliance Of Science ' is certainly very apparent with the
technology included in the manufacture of this Free Standing cooker ,
the features included assist the user in ways that 20 years ago we
wouldn't have thought possible .
First things First .
The size of the cooker
the cookers dimensions are 60 cm wide 60cm deep and 90 cm height ,
this model fits nicely in a small kitchen such as my own . It is so
well made that it gives the kitchen a fitted look .
This model comes in 3
colours Black , White and Stainless steel , I have the Stainless
Steel model and as you can see it looks like a professional appliance
.
What it does
The cooker has a Glass
hob with four Induction heating zones ranging from 140mm up to 210 mm
, these should be used with pans where the pas diameter covers the
zone as the induction heating element will only heat where it is
covered .it is also the most energy efficient way to use them .
In the middle of the
bottom of the hob there is a digital led display panel with all of
the control features to operate the hob and oven , you can set
cooking zones and lock the panel if you need to .
The Controls for the
hob and ovens are on a slightly raised level there is an led clock
display which incorporates a timer , great for when you need to roast
a piece of meat just press in the time and when its completed the
countdown the timer beeps , it would have been nice if this also
controlled the cooking and turned it off , but it doesn't . Maybe
that's something Zanussi will incorporate in future .
There is a great bonus
when using the digital display control panel that gives you the
ability to keep a pan warm , a good thing to have if you like to have
extra gravy or sauces ready to use .
There are a further six
knobs on the front of the cooker which give you the added option of
manually turning the zones on and off and setting temperatures .
The next level down is
the grill and first oven , this is a conventional oven which is
really easy to use , its a 37 litre capacity which is more than big
enough to either bake in or use for a small roast . The grill has a
few functions which mean you can choose which setting you want
dependant on what you are grilling . The top oven has its own light
allowing you to see whats happening inside .
The best part about
this oven is it has a cooling function which automatically kicks in
when the oven has been turned off and keeps going until the oven is
cool again .
Zanussi have turned
this oven into a Tardis , somehow they have managed to increase the
inside without increasing the overall outer dimensions . It's a real
winner , the bottom oven is absolutely HUGE with a 74 litre capacity
, I was able to cook a 6kg joint of Pork all my vegetables and a
casserole dish of rice pudding in the oven and there was still space
.,because the bottom oven has Thermaflow technology you have to
adjust cooking times , items cook a lot faster and far more evenly
when using it .
And here comes the best
part of the science , this oven comes with something called catalytic
liners they are magical , basically they collect all of the food oil
& grease and disintegrate it , its simple to operate too ,just
turn the oven on select conventional oven and then set the
temperature to 250 degrees for an hour , when the hour is up all
there is for you to do is wipe the base of the oven with a damp
sponge .
Some might not like the
look of this oven but for me its perfect , it has all of the bells
and whistles and I am delighted with it . The only way it could be
improved upon is if the timer controlled the heat function and turned
it off when the timer runs out .
I reviewed this cooker for the wonderful people at http://ao.com/ If you are interested in joining their review team , where you get the chance to review and keep products , you should check out their facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/AOLetsGo/?fref=ts , Becoming a reviewer is simple , just upload a video to their page if chosen you get to keep a product .After six months you can apply again ...Yossi and the Team also do livestream giveaways and the Facebook page has regular competitions .

I entered a competition on Twitter in December last year and to my absolute surprise and delight I won it .My First competition and I won a Luxury Food Hamper which I received just in time for Christmas . This was the Start of my Love affair with comping ...To be honest it has now turned into a full on Obsession , even when I am working , with no internet access , I am thinking about different ways I can make my entries stand out against others .
My First Win
I hadn't realised just how many people were as obsessed as I am , but looking through social networking sites Like Twitter and Facebook I soon found thousands of like minded people .There are so many Groups that you can find and join , the Comping Community is a very friendly one , Most compers will tell you about good comps they have seen and really nice compers set up pages with easy to follow links directly to them .
It's not Just Competitions I also Like to take part in surveys Forums and Product Reviews . This will be a running theme throughout my blog . I will share Pages that are of interest to me , Hopefully you will find them useful too :D
